Welcome to Laughing Lotus’ Teacher Training in SF!

Dubbed ‘love school’, we are here to support you on your incredible journey in cultivating a personal spiritual practice, Sadhana, that connects you directly with the Source of your being, the true Teacher or Guru within. Through this sacred connection, you become the true mystic, sharing what you discover and offering yourself as a powerful and healing presence in the world.

This transformative 200 hour Yoga Program is the perfect launching pad for teaching as well as a fantastic way to deepen your Sadhana. Yoga School at Laughing Lotus is an incredibly rich and intensive program that fully brings to life the depth and joy of yoga as a creative process and as a Divine path to Awakening.

As a registered Yoga Alliance® School, our curriculum fulfills all of the necessary requirements, and yet goes even deeper by focusing on the greater aspects of teaching right from the start. From the very first weekend, students are teaching and discovering their own voices and soulful expression.
Jasmine Tarkeshi and Dana Flynn, the co-creators and co-directors of Laughing Lotus and the Lotus College of Yoga, have developed a program that thoroughly explores the art of teaching and sequencing a Vinyasa class. Vinyasa means step by step and our sequencing is an ecstatic celebration where the asanas are woven together like a garland, honoring the body’s own intelligence and guided by the powerful rhythm of the breath. The movement as medicine and prayer; pranayama, mantra, mudra, and timeless yogic teachings lift the veil of the mind and liberates the Spirit to Freedom and Cosmic Oneness.
Our philosophy focus is on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the ‘road map’ to Liberation. Through self-inquiry, group discussion and chanting of the Sutras, we uncover and experience the meaning of Yoga and how this rich philosophy relates to our daily lives.

Jasmine and Keith will be your guides for this amazing journey where asana, philosophy and teaching skills are infused with creativity and the unique approach to sharing the yoga practice that is Laughing Lotus’ signature teaching style.

Senior teacher Sarah Tomlinson shares an in-depth study of Subtle body and Chakras, the use of Mantra, Ayurveda, and Yoga as it relates to the internal organs.

Arturo Peal shares the anatomy portion of our training by brilliantly weaving together the functions of the various systems of the body and how they specifically relate to the yoga practice. Arturo is an anatomy and physiology instructor and a Certified Yoga therapist. He has been involved in the "alternative" health-care field for more than 30 years.

Joshua Michaell, a senior teacher with the American Sanskrit Institute, has been studying with its founder, Vyaas Houston, since 1997. He leads Sanskrit and Yoga Philosophy workshops throughout the US and internationally. Joshua is also a licensed psychotherapist with a yoga psychology-based counseling practice in San Francisco and Marin County, California. He has practiced yoga since 1993 and was certified to teach Restorative Yoga by Judith Lasater in 2002.

Our inspired teachings will include an introduction to Prenatal Yoga.

Yoga is about relationships and our time together asks of your complete and active participation in Community.

Yoga School is a Weekend Program, but you will also be assigned a Mentor and partnered up with another soul seeker whom you will meet with on a weekly basis. There is an abundant amount of homework each week and other assignments, like Karma Yoga, that will require your full focus. You must be able to fulfill ALL of the above requirements to complete your Certification and receive your Diploma.

Namaste and thank you for your interest in Yoga School. If you have any questions or inquiries regarding yoga school please contact SFYogaSchool@laughinglotus.com
